Requesting permission to speak at Durham Council

 As Redbridge Labour Council will not provide the name of Jas Athwal's agent when the BBC story broke last year I have written to Durham Council requesting permission to speak. My email to Durham is below: Leader, Would you agree that the information I provided before this meeting demonstrates: 1. I am a member of a Redbridge cross-party community group calling for an investigation into why Jas Athwal MP has not been fined for failing to hold a landlord license for his sub-standard flats reported by the BBC last year. 2. I have been banned from attending Redbridge Council meetings, and while my questions may still be allowed, any question related to Mr. Athwal is prohibited due to Redbridge Council’s standing orders. 3. That Redbridge Labour Council is withholding the name of Mr. Athwal’s agent at the time of the BBC report, even though all other landlords’ agents are listed on the council website. Why is Redbridge Council refusing to name Jas Athwal's agent when they name all other agents?

 I wrote to Redbridge Council today requesting an internal review of their decision not to name Jas Athwal's agent. You have refused the name of Mr Athwal's agent claiming it is personal data under GDPR. However, I say the public interest obliges you to provide the information. Two recent examples support my argument. David Lammy MP was found to have been fishing without a licence. He referred himself to the appropriate authority and was given a warning in due course. Angela Rayner MP used her lawyers to shield herself from criticism over an underpayment of stamp duty.
